You can do these at home or in a gym. DB Romanian deadlifts??‍♂️. These are a really terrific exercise for your hamstrings, glutes and back. I’m using 17.5 lbs weights in each hand for sets of 20 reps and I just love how they make my backside feel. My big keys are to keep the core muscles really tight, keep the back flat, and keep the arms straight. I’m just hinging at the hips and pushing my hips back as far as I can, and then driving them forwards so they lock out nicely. I make sure to really feel this in my hamstrings and glutes and that there is no strain in my back. Wearing (as always!!) my @womensbest camo leggings and True tank top. @womensbest is now coming in XXL sizes! I wish I had these clothes when I was first starting out instead of wearing all the saggy baggy clothes I used to wear when I was 200 lbs. you have to celebrate where you are gals! ?? You are working just as hard, if not harder, at the start of your weight loss journey, and deserve to look good and feel good every step of the way. ? With love, Joan ❤️ #womensbest #womensbestwear #legday

Let’s talk about progress! ? Sometimes we get so fixated on where we want to be VS where we are not, that our eagerness actually sabotages our progress. What do I mean by that? I mean that body transformation, especially BIG transformation like mine, is going to be a very long, slow process. If I woke up every day expecting to see big changes, I would be one very disappointed lady. I can’t say it enough, focus on doing the best you can with the day right in front of you, and the future will naturally take care of itself. On the picture on the left, I was already down close to 20 lbs and I was so happy that I’d made it that far! This was real progress for me, and already beyond my wildest dreams. I was already starting to fall back in love with myself and to trust myself more, that I was capable to do the right thing and take the best care of myself. Fast forward to the photo on the right, and I have that exact same attitude of just doing the best I can with each day and letting the future take care of itself. I am doing the same things as the girl on the left: training with weights 4-5 x week, doing my cardio, measuring and planning my food, checking in with my coach regularly to make sure I’m on track. By focusing on your day-to-day habits, they become so polished and smooth that success is guaranteed. And when you finally arrive at that big transformation, you will find that the habits you gained are what it’s really all about anyway. I hope you understand what I’m trying to explain. Love yourself each stage of the journey, fall in love with your habits, focus on the day right in front of you, and success will take care of itself . With love Joan ??

I think the last time I wore a bikini like this was during a holiday in Florida, just before my third child. I was about 27 years old, so young and hopeful as to what life had in store for me and my budding family. So much has happened since that time, so many adventures, hard times, joys, tragedies, triumphs and disappointments. That’s life, isn’t it? It’s a marvelous unwinding ball of yarn that goes this way and that and we don’t always know how to make sense of it all until we get to the end of it. If I could go back in time and whisper in my ear what would I say? “My dear, do not forget to take care of yourself while you are taking care of everybody else around you.” “Be mindful. If you can learn to be present in each moment you will make better choices, build richer relationships and live a more fulfilled life” “Develop your patience and try not to get too caught up in the little things” “Try to see life as an adventure, and look for ways to keep exploring who you are and having fun” “Learn more about food and what it does for your body. Health is so important if you want to be able to enjoy yourself” “Love yourself and know you are worthy of that love ?”. . If there was one thing you could say to your younger self, what would it be? I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, stay healthy and stay strong! ? With love, Joan ?
