Hurricane Dorian has already reached Category 3 and is preparing to land in Florida next Monday.

The phenomenon has already passed through Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, and it is estimated that it will reach the American coast having reached Category 4 on the Saffir-Simpson scale (over a maximum of 5), becoming an “absolute monster.”

The authorities’ recommendations to citizens included not leaving their homes and, if so, always using a rain jacket and, where possible, avoiding exposed places.

Hurricane Dorian (National Hurricane Center designation: 05-L) was the strongest hurricane to affect the northwest of the Bahamas ever recorded, causing catastrophic damage to the Abacus and Grand Bahama islands in early September 2019.

The fifth tropical cyclone , the fourth named storm, the second hurricane and the first major hurricane of the 2019 Atlantic hurricane season, Dorian originated from a tropical wave traveling westward that was more than a thousand miles east of the Windward Islands on August 23.
